Video Interview with Bishop Richard Williamson in London, June 2009, Part I

Find below Part I of the interview I did with Bishop Richard Williamson in London last month. His Excellency was in good spirits. Part II of the interview is here.

While these videos are not available for download, you may purchase them from True Restoration Press on DVD for $10. These discs will play either in your DVD player (if your player will play WMV files) or on your computer. You may do so either by remitting $10 ($15 for international orders) via Paypal to truerestoration at gmail.com or mail a check/money order to 9300 W 87th Terrace; Overland Park, KS 66212; USA. In either case you should specify your mailing address.

This interview was done to commemorate the publication of (and help launch) the final two volumes of his four-volume Letters from the Rector of St. Thomas Aquinas Seminary.

There are controls in the player that allow you to rewind or fast-forward based on question number. Find also below some photos I took while he was autographing some books.

Bps Tissier and Williamson believe that the Council documents should be scrapped, pure and simple, because they are like a "poisoned cake" (to use Bp Williamson's analogy).

That being the case, what is the point of doctrinal discussions that aim at "clarifications" of Vatican II? Are these discussions really going to go anywhere?

Or should we assume that Bps Tissier and Williamson are speaking in hyperbole when they talk of "erasing" the Council?

Is the objective of the SSPX in these discussions to clarify or erase the Council? Which is it? Can Bp Williamson please answer that question?

BTW, I'm only halfway through the interview, so apologies if my question is already answered therein.

Thank God he made it safely back home! Sure wish he could come back here, though.

The only good answer would be that, through the debates, the Church can realize that the Council should be scrapped. Lets pray!

God bless you Bishop Williamson!!

our Lord said, “ love of the world is enmity with God.” and as the Bishop mentioned many men of the church do indeed have good will in their intentions to weld the catholic faith with the modern world. However the world’s empty message of peace without justice, and Satan’s doctrine of “love of neighbor” as priority rather than “love of God” have deceived their intellects. Truth is greater than love. Truth can (and does) exist without love, but love CANNOT exist without truth.

Bishop Williamson is very much speaking this precious truth when he says that the only way to “save” the church is by a chastisement, in order to separate the rotten portion of the apple from the pure, there must be violence done to it.

Our Lord, very soon, will allow our most holy church to be shaken by Satan and his followers (freemasons) and all Catholics who are on the fence will fall either to our Lord’s right side or his left side.

The antichrist that will lead the attack on our church is now here. I pray that all Christians recognize who this man is. The prophet Daniel spoke of him, proclaiming “ He shall destroy many by spreading peace.” Why I wonder? Who can that man be?

He is meeting the holy father this coming weekend I believe.

Kyrie eleison

The Novus Ordo is NEVER SAID in Le Barroux! The communal Mass the Rubrics of 1965 are used as I understand.

The point of "doctrinal discussions" is to provide palava in which papal delusions can dissolve so that V2 can finally be anathamatised. Now, whether this is Bishop Fellay's plan or God's I would not know.

Mr. Heiner,

It is always a pleasure to read Bp. Williamson Kyrie Eleison letters, and now a even bigger satisfaction for the inspiring and up lifting words in this interview.
Bishop Williamson as always is a sharp sword that cuts really deeps and clear. God bless Bishop Williamson, God give him so many years, he is a true leader.
In a world and in a church where messages are so confusing, so watered, and misguiding, his words stand as a clear light for all traditionalists.
Thanks to you too for this well done interview.

If I may just add, on a personal note....

I only heard of Bishop Williamson, because of the contraversy concerning the lifting of his excommunication and "so called" holocaust denial, and it was this that led me to his various sermons on youtube, where I said to myself, 'so Im not crazy, there are still those who hold the raw fundamentals of our most noble catholic faith!'

I suppose what Im trying to say is that what many see as a wound in the catholic church, is a great blessing to those who understand and cling to the fundamental principles of our faith!

High and mighty are the ways of God above the ignorance and blindness of mortals. As high as the heavens are above the earth.God worketh all things unto good for those who love him.

God bless all brothers and sisters in Christ!

What would be really interesting is if you could facilitate a panel discussion with Bishops Dolan, Kelly, Sanborn and Williamson.

That would make a fascinating discussion!

Very good interviews on this blog, a rare find. I appreciate it!

The characterization of the Motu Proprio as a concession to bring in traditionalists, rather than the Church moving towards tradition, I found interesting.

His comment about people actually having to think is a nice contrast to one of your earlier interviews where parishioners are characterized as not having to be theologians and be comfortable receiving the truth from the priest about various matters.

The kind of thought necessary to sort matters out these days is something that requires entirely the grace of God and humility, I do not think natural reason can suffice.

There is a real war between objective truth and the sentimental message, and finding this objective truth despite the sentimental message which is so often off tradition.

I am new to Traditional Catholicism? Would someone please share who the "nine" are?

Stephen Heiner said...

Doran

The "Nine" were nine SSPX priests who left due to disagreements with the Archbishop in 1983. Here is a letter explaining their position:
